A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of getting to know Hamburg from a whole new perspective. As part of a VHS course led by Jürgen Herschelmann (LINK to his homepage), we walked around various parking garages in downtown Hamburg that didn’t have the top deck covered. From here you have a really different view of the city.

The Michel and the Elphi in one picture. The terrific sky is a result of a storm front that moved over Hamburg the day before.

The course was really worth it. On the one hand, the idea is simply brilliant. On the other hand, Jürgen took the trouble to visit about 40 parking garages all over Hamburg to see which ones were suitable.

It didn’t matter that in the last parking garage half of the upper deck was closed off with construction fences.
By then we had plenty of beautiful pictures in the can. Besides, the small talk with Jürgen and the other course participants was also a really exciting gain.

In the end, I went by subway to Rödingsmarkt and walked along the banks of the Elbe to the Landungsbrücken. On the way there were a few nice seagull pictures.

All in all a good day!

I will not give any addresses here. If you are interested, then book the course with Jürgen. He earns his living with it 🙂

And now, without further ado, I’ll attach the gallery. Have fun with it!
